“Playtime”, fall 2024

Single bed machine knit overalls, shorts, and socks. Overalls knit with hand-dyed acid dyed wool, mohair, acrylic, and cotton. Shorts knit with wool, then acid dyed and hand painted plaid with acid dye. Playtime is a contemporary reimagination of the colors and patterns I love today that originated from elements of my childhood clothing.

When I think of play, I think of days spent running around outside with my younger sister wearing our favorite clothes — always very similar, but never identical. Thus I have made dual garments that explore two different iterations of plaid, and similarly two different versions of rainbow socks. This collection explores nostalgia and playfulness to create new garments that reflect both my familiar and newly evolving sensibilities.

Socks are knit with acid-dyed wool (top sections) and wool that was knit and then acid dyed via direct application. The bottom of the socks are intentionally dip dyed brown to mimick the appearance of having been playing in the mud or running in the woods.
